Privacy policy

Effective 11 June 2026

This policy explains what information the RouteMate app collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. RouteMate is published by Project Starlit. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address and a user identifier through our authentication provider. An account is optional: you can use the core features of RouteMate without one, and signing in only unlocks extra features.

Advertising and usage data

RouteMate is free and shows ads through third-party advertising providers, Google AdMob and Start.io. To deliver and measure ads, these providers may collect:

Device and diagnostic data

We and our service providers may collect device identifiers, crash logs and performance data to keep the app working reliably and to help detect fraud or abuse.

2. How we use information

3. How information is shared

We share advertising and usage data with our advertising providers, Google AdMob and Start.io, so they can serve and measure ads. These providers may use this data for their own purposes, such as ad targeting and measurement. We do not sell your personal information, and your account data (email and user ID) is not shared with advertising partners.

You can review how these providers handle data here: Google Privacy Policy and Start.io Privacy Policy.

4. Data security

All data collected by the app is encrypted in transit using standard secure protocols (TLS).

5. Your choices

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your account and the data tied to it within 30 days. We may retain limited records only where the law requires, and remove them once that requirement ends.

To delete your account and data, visit Contact & data deletion or email [email protected].

7. Children

RouteMate is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
